Sometimes what you call hunger
is not ambition.
It’s fear.
Fear of slowing down.
Fear of stopping.
Fear of discovering who you are without constant effort.
Not all hunger comes from growth.
Some comes from the need to stay in motion
because standing still feels dangerous.
That kind of hunger doesn’t build you.
It keeps you busy.
And busy is not the same as progressing.
Many athletes confuse pressure with importance.
They confuse urgency with meaning.
They confuse intensity with depth.
But real growth doesn’t always feel urgent.
Sometimes it feels quiet.
Sometimes it asks you to pause instead of push.
Notice this today
In training, or in your thoughts:
Are you moving forward because something inside is pulling you…
or because you’re afraid of what might happen if you stop?
The difference is subtle.
But it changes everything.
🎾 Coach’s note
Healthy hunger gives you direction.
Unhealthy hunger never lets you rest.
