WHAT’S NOT RIGHT INSIDE… ALWAYS SHOWS

Novak Djokovic said something most players don’t really want to face:
if something isn’t right inside, it will show in your tennis.

Not immediately. Not always in an obvious way. But it shows.

You can train well, prepare well, even play good points. But if you’re not internally aligned, your level won’t hold. When it matters, something breaks. Not outside. Inside.

THE PROBLEM: YOU PLAY WITHOUT INTERNAL COHERENCE

Most players think the issue is technical. Forehand, serve, movement. But the reality is that tennis is just an expression of what’s happening inside you in that moment.

If you’re divided, your game is divided.
If you’re uncertain, your shot is uncertain.
If you’re not convinced, your tennis loses direction.

You cannot play with clarity if you’re not clear inside.

THE MECHANISM: INTERNAL CONFLICT CREATES EXTERNAL ERRORS

When you’re not aligned internally, something very specific happens. You don’t just miss randomly. You miss in a way that reflects your internal state.

You get to the ball without full commitment.
You hit, but part of you is holding back.
You choose, but without total conviction.

And that small lack of completeness turns into error.

It’s not technique. It’s inconsistency inside.

WHERE THE DISCONNECTION STARTS

This internal break usually comes from three places:

  • You don’t accept the situation (score, opponent, moment)

  • You want something different from what’s actually happening

  • You play to avoid, instead of to execute

In that moment, you’re no longer inside the point. You’re resisting it.

And when you resist, you can’t perform clearly.

TOP PLAYERS ARE ALIGNED, NOT PERFECT

The best players are not always confident, calm, or perfect. They are aligned. What they think, feel, and do moves in the same direction.

There is no internal conflict.

And when there is no conflict, the movement is clean.
The decision is clear.
The execution is free.

THE SOLUTION: STOP CHASING THE PERFECT SHOT, BUILD ALIGNMENT

You need to stop chasing the perfect shot. Start building internal coherence.

That means one simple but demanding thing:
choose—and stay fully inside that choice.

No half commitment.
No “let’s see what happens.”
No “I hope I don’t miss.”

Full decision. Full execution.

DRILL: TOTAL ALIGNMENT

During practice, set one rule: every shot must be played with complete decision.

It doesn’t matter if you miss.
It matters if you are aligned.

If you feel hesitation, stop and recognize it.
Then reset and play with a clear intention.

You are training coherence, not perfection.

THE TRUTH YOU’RE AVOIDING

You don’t lose because you miss shots.
You miss shots because you’re not aligned inside.

And as long as you keep working only on technique without addressing what’s happening internally, your level will always be unstable.

FINAL TRUTH

Your tennis doesn’t show what you can do.
It shows how aligned you are while you play.
