And that may be true.

But that statistic alone is misleading.

In tennis, it’s not about how many points you win.
It’s about which points you win.

1️⃣ NOT ALL POINTS HAVE THE SAME WEIGHT

A point at 40-0 equals a point at 30-30 statistically.

But not strategically.

Matches are decided at:

  • 4-4

  • 5-5

  • Break points

  • Set points

Control those, control the match.

2️⃣ DISTRIBUTION MATTERS MORE THAN TOTAL

You can win many points in wide games
and lose the tight ones.

That’s enough to lose.

Tennis scoring rewards structure, not accumulation.

3️⃣ WHAT ANALYSTS REALLY LOOK AT

Serious analysis focuses on:

✔️ First serve under pressure
✔️ Break point conversion
✔️ Unforced errors at 30-30
✔️ Rally depth in key moments

Total points won is surface-level.

Context wins matches.
